Las Vegas locals know that Red Rock Canyon is a gem, and its beauty draws in the crowds.
As a city native, I’ve learned my lesson early on when getting a late start to hit the trail.
The line of cars waiting outside the entrance can span for miles, and many times - eager hikers will be turned away especially on the weekends and holidays.
To help with the busy season, reservations are needed for Red Rock Canyon (starting November 3rd).
Timed entry reservations and daily entry passes will be offered through Recreation.gov.
Reservations will only be required between October 1st to May 31st, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The cooler weather tends to bring an influx of visitors to the area.
The good news is Red Rock Canyon expects the overall visitor experience to improve, as wait times will be less at the fee gate. Once you’re inside, there is no time limit to how long you can enjoy the hiking trails and scenic loop.
